Veterinary school is an intense journey, but it’s also incredibly rewarding for students like yourself who are caring, compassionate and capable.  At St. Matthew’s University School of Veterinary Medicine (SMUSVM), we understand the demanding nature of embarking on this journey, and we are here to support you every step of the way. We’re here to assist you with the application process and help you smoothly transition into our community.

Multiple Start Dates Throughout the Year

With our rolling admissions process, you can apply at any time throughout the year. We encourage early applications to give you the best opportunity to secure a place in your preferred semester. New classes begin in January, May, and September, giving you the flexibility to choose a start date that works for you.

Review Process

The SMUSVM admissions committee reviews each application to ensure that all specific prerequisite courses have been taken. The committee then selects those students who exhibit the strongest potential to flourish in our rigorous DVM program, and who possess the potential to become a professional and ethical member of the profession. Candidates who meet the admissions criteria will be interviewed prior to a final decision. Applicants should submit materials early and ensure that their application file is complete. The admissions committee will not review incomplete documentation.
