Biography:

Elaine Blythe completed coursework in animal science at Texas Tech University and received her B.S. degree in pharmacy from Southwestern Oklahoma State University School of Pharmacy in 1992. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2003 from Creighton University School of Pharmacy and Health Professions.  Dr. Blythe’s area of expertise is educating pharmacy students and veterinary students in veterinary pharmacology.

Elaine is an associate professor at St. Matthews University School of Veterinary Medicine and teaches seven credit hours of pharmacology to the veterinary students on the island.  She joined the faculty at the school of veterinary medicine in 2010 after teaching 10 years at Creighton University School of Pharmacy in Omaha, NE. 

Dr. Blythe has developed and instructed numerous didactic and clinical courses in veterinary pharmacy over the course of her career. She has authored over 45 manuscripts and articles, delivered over 50 national/regional/state/local presentations, 20 podium presentations and over 20 academic poster presentations.

Additionally, Dr. Blythe has over 15 years’ experience in regulatory affairs consulting services for veterinary drug distributors focusing on wholesale drug distribution and state pharmacy licensing requirements.

Dr. Blythe is also adjunct faculty at University of Florida College of Pharmacy where she offers online courses in veterinary pharmacy to pharmacy students across North America.

In her spare time Dr. Blythe enjoys cooking, reading, horseback riding and classic car restorations.
